Technistone is an artificial stone or composite material, also often called as quartz. Technistone contains 90 per cent of granite and quartz sands, some of them also with mirror particles. Technistone appeared as an alternative for those who like natural stones and prefer to have practicable, nice and at the same time very sustainable worktops in their kitchens. The difference from a natural stone lies in the absency of pores, cracks and cells. Natural stones cannot be monochrome, but Technistone worktops are monochrome, snow white, brown, beige, grey and other. To get white colour white sand is additionaly bleached. The material contains polyester resin as one of the ingredients, and with colour pigments polychrome is being achieved. A recently new trend is tones of classical natural stones and marble pattern.
